Putt, Pint and Pizza!
#TeamCity are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for a British Chamber of Commerce Chamber Business Award 2021 in the Problem Solver category.
We have been nominated for this award given our need to provide communities with continuity, accessibility, and some sort of normal over the last year.
Since launching the month before first lockdown, citygrab has established itself as a lifeline for over 300 local independent businesses. The app provided an outlet for independents to stay open, re-open or create new businesses with many people pivoting their structure.
We also reached out to offer our services to hospitals and emergency services, having worked with them previously. To fulfil the health and safety requirements, we put over 200 drivers and staff through an Infection Prevention & Control qualification to train them on how to appropriately handle COVID positive patients.
Halfway through lockdown, we realised our charity partners were being negatively impacted upon as they couldn’t hold their usual fundraising events. Therefore, for 6 consecutive weekends we matched the equivalent of what our delivery drivers earned with fees totalling just over £60,000. The NHS and 5 of our local charities were extremely humbled and so were they with the public for supporting the campaign so generously.
The Chamber Business Awards are one of the UK’s most prestigious business awards and we are proud to have been nominated this year alongside so many great businesses across the country.
Thanks to our wonderful team and our friends in Sheffield Chamber of Commerce for the nomination.
